Why choose our bell tents?

Sleeping under canvas is a real treat. If you’ve never tried it before, it’s an absolute must. Trust us, you will be converted! One of us (we won’t mention names) was definitely not a born camper. Too many cold nights and sweaty mornings crammed in a polyester tent had resulted in them declaring “Enough!”. Then they discovered the joys of a canvas bell tent. The beauty of a canvas tent is that it keeps you cooler in hot weather and warmer in cold weather.

“If they’re so great, why doesn’t everyone camp in bell tents?”, we hear you shout. Good question. The only real downside to canvas is that it’s heavier to carry and can be bulkier to store. As we deliver and pitch your tent you don’t need to worry about either. Yay!

Whether you’re a seasoned camper with all the kit or a complete novice looking for your first glamping experience, Bears & Butterflies can cater for all needs with our variety of packages. We’re ideal for wedding camping as your guests can book directly with us so you don’t have the hassle of organising everyone. If you can’t find exactly what you’re after please get in touch and we will try our best to come up with a solution.

All our tents have sewn-in grounsheets that reduce cold draughts and the likelihood of creepy-crawlies getting in. Our 3m bell tents are cleverly designed so there is no awkward central pole getting in the way. This means we can happily fit in a double airbed despite them only being 3m in diameter. Cute and cosy! If you’ve got children or just fancy more space you may want to opt for our 5m tents.

Our canvas is tested to European BS5852 standards, which is the cigarette burn test.
