Cwtchfest 2016!

On Saturday we headed over the bridge into Wales to the fabulous Glanusk estate to set up ready for Cwtchfest. It was also our first proper trip in our gorgeous new Mercedes Sprinter van – so very exciting!

For anyone who doesn’t know, Cwtchfest is organised by Cwtch the Bride, a blog full of fabulous Welsh weddings and inspiration. After hitting a bit of traffic, we arrived in the afternoon and began setting up some of our bell tents ready for the next day. It was lovely and sunny but there was a pretty chilly wind blowing, which made us question the wiseness of our decision to spend the night camping in the Brecon Beacons…

We had all the tents pitched in a couple of hours and had a bit of time to meet some of the other great exhibitors such as Herf Yurts, and Y Bws – both companies have put in so much work – building a yurt from scratch and converting a double decker bus into a bar – and are so impressive. Definitely worth checking them out.

Naturally, we also took the opportunity to get the drone up in the air and capture some of the stunning scenery that surrounded us.

After a rather chilly night in the Welsh mountains we awoke to the sounds of birds chirruping and bright sunshine. Perfect!

Cwtchfest itself was so much fun! We met even more great wedding professionals, listened in to some amazing workshops and met some truly fabulous brides and grooms to be. Plus, had possibly the best hot dog ever from Clever Chefs, listened to some great bands and enjoyed the Welsh sunshine!

Definitely one to watch out for next year if you’re a bride to be or just fancy a thoroughly fun day out!
